Michele Gillentine, Au.D.
"Filling sound voids and the prevention of hearing loss is my passion," says Michele Gillentine, Au.D. of Allen Hearing Clinic, Inc. The term "Sound Void™" was created to explain the "gaps" that some individuals experience in their day-to-day lives. Sound Voids occur in situations where an individual's hearing loss prevents them from understanding important sounds and speech cues.
Born deaf in her right ear, Dr. Gillentine felt her struggles and frustrations would be an asset in helping others overcome hearing difficulties. Therefore, she earned her Master's Degree in Audiology from the University of Oklahoma in 1993.
She moved to San Antonio, Texas, upon graduation and worked for a university hospital and an ear, nose and throat clinic. Dr. Gillentine was presented the opportunity to open her own private practice, and upon careful consideration she chose Allen. In her desire to continue providing the best possible hearing healthcare she went back to school and she earned her Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Arizona in 2004.
Allen Hearing Clinic, Inc. is proud of its caring and friendly home-like atmosphere where you can relax and have a cup of coffee while being tested with innovative state-of-the-art equipment.
